Introductions tend to be extremely boring. There's so much of the same--I like this, I dislike that, I live here, I work there. I have [X amount of] kids and [X amount of] dogs/cats/turtles. You pick. Online, you can be anyone. Introductions and get-to-know-you spiels aren't necessarily reliable. The only way to be truly sure of a stranger online is to judge them by their writing, their thoughts. You don't need to know where I went to elementary school or what my favorite color is. You'll most likely never meet me, never even be within a hundred miles of me. All you need to know about me is what I choose to share with you.
My accuracy, my reasoning, my consistency; these are the things that you will--and should--judge me by. The color of my hair or the brand of clothing I prefer does not--should not--matter to you.
